I think the problem is that I needed to convey a bunch of information to the reader and had to cram it into 8 frames (this one and the next one), but there was really only one joke – more like a poignant line – that doesn’t happen until frame 8. I’m trying like crazy to *avoid* situations like these. We’re a “show not tell” medium.
When it does happen, I’m usually able to inject *something* extra into either the title or the hover text. This one sat written in Scrivener for more than a month called “comic”, mocking me every time I checked the timeline. Most of the strips name themselves – you’re an author, I’m sure you get that – but this one never did.
Ah, well, the title in the *next* comic will hopefully make up for it!
