We’ve had Kate in the stable for a while now. Astute readers may recognize her in any number of strips. If that forces you to go back and read every single one, our page view counter will just have to deal with it. So far she is yet to gore anyone, but means and opportunity abound. We don’t want to give her a motive, which Codex came perilously close to doing in yesterdays comic.
Kate may-or-may-not-impale. You see, she is indeed named after Kate “The Impaler” Paulk, who is leading next years’ Sad Puppy campaign. The Real Kate is an author. Our Kate is a cartoon character in an “off-Broadway” comic strip. The Real Kate writes vampire stories. Our Kate may write a future blog entry. The Real Kate has decided opinions about the TSA. Our Kate dreams of doing cartoon violence to the TSA.
As you can see, they are similar, yet not. You can read the Genuine Impaler over at Mad Genius Club. Stay tuned for more of Our Kate.
We here at Tempest in a Teardrop wish the Real Kate the best in leading next years’ efforts. Can you believe we are almost 2/3rds of the way thru 2015? If you haven’t been keeping track of potential Hugo nominees, you should start!
