The use of the Dark Crystal is so appropriate. Two halves of a forgotten whole, proxy fighting over a realm that neither truly cares for. One side destroying that which it cannot control (which it destroys more slowly), the other side “maintaining a civil tone” by doing nothing while chanting placating nonsense to its followers.
The role of Aughra was played by Ross Perot.
