Well, come on. Most people only see their faces just before cooking them or chopping them up. Nobody looks eager then. If you could observe them in the wild, dancing happily in their mushroom caves, you’d see they are very complex little beings that display a wide range of emotions.
Those of us who grew up hearing songs from the 60’s and 70’s are giving our young ‘shroom a cautioning look. Treasure to one might be gold and/or jewels, to others it might be “Peace on Earth”.
And when they find it, it’s a hand mirror with a sticky note saying, “And you were the real treasure all along.”
I should know, I hide hand mirrors with sticky notes all around the house. When I reach Biden stage (able to hide my own Easter eggs) then I’ll keep wondering who hides mirrors around my house.
That is the most eager look I have ever seen on a mushrooms face!

You’re right. It could be anything. As the writer, I should probably figure it out before they find it!
