But you know, jumping into the leaves and breaking them down will help compost them *faster!*

The taste of… Feet? Might effect the flavor though…

Yeah, we really don’t know Rory’s foot hygiene history. Might still be boggy.

I bet David the Good had a suitable recipe in his Compost Everything book for all the major holidays and feasts.

But, Rory is turning the compost the way you ought to!

Huh, no one here complains when I bathe in the gravy. I mean, they might if they knew I bathed in the gravy, but still.

I think picking the right moment for confession is important. Letting the Mrs know as the ladle is poised to coat her mashed potatoes isn’t nearly as funny as waiting until after she scoops that first bite into her mouth.

The deathbed confession is also an option. “You know how the gravy at our Thanksgiving dinners always had that used-bathwater aftertaste? Well…”

I am so slow. Now I get it! Like a top-quality fruitcake (which I make), the compost has to be properly aged!

Does it get fed regular infusions of dark rum?

I’m… not sure. Possibly. But they wouldn’t call it ‘rum’. They’d call it ‘Tree Trinkle Drippings’ or ‘Oyster Bucket Pitch’ or something. Careful with those pronunciations!

If you’re concerned over pronunciations, you haven’t had enough rum.
