We came up with our “Great Moments in Cinema History” as a repeatable way to contrast the ridiculousness of political correctness with situations in the past. The requirements are pretty clear: the movie scene has to be well-known and the lines have to be succinct enough to substitute SJW claptrap to make a point. Feel free to toss ideas into the comments, we’ll give credit if we use them!
We’ve also toyed with “Great Moments on Television” and “Great Moments from Literature,” although we haven’t run with any strips yet. Frankly, there are so many great movie scenes we can ruin for you, we haven’t felt the need to go further. Maybe in a few years!

We started Tempest in a Teardrop with subject matter firmly lodged in the Hugo Awards/Puppy controversy but intended to branch out into the culture war. This was, I believe, our first strip to venture there. It also led into the concept of “extra explanatory posts” which relate to the strip.
The follow-up post featured Terri raising awareness on the plight of sporks, Making Words. Q’s writing skills have improved since then.

The first appearance of The Germ. We argued over the hand puppets. Q turned out to be right. Not just right, but very right. Every time The Germ appears in our comic we get to tell a second story with the puppets, which we both enjoy immensely.
This comic might also be the first example where we got the humor beats absolutely perfect. The only thing we’d change if we did this one again is update the format so you could see it more clearly without having to click on it.

We produced ten or so comics when we first started, to prove to ourselves we would be able to hold to a regular schedule, and could offer the internet something different. This was one of our favorites. It provided an opportunity to play with our readers, make fun of ourselves, and push the limits on how family-friendly we were going to be. The misspelling was unfortunate, but these things happen.
We still aren’t apologizing for it.

Tempest in a Teardrop is proud to announce that quirky feminist Terri the Potato is, in fact, pregnant. This comes as a shock to the cast and illustrator, who were unaware that Terri had a love interest either in or out of the comic strip. Astute readers familiar with potato biology may have been suspicious when a mysterious growth appeared in the comic “Mesmerizing Inaction“. Continue reading
